This week, Congress will be considering year-end spending packages providing funding for the government. Included in these packages are several tax provisions; one of those provisions is a full repeal of the excise tax on high-cost health plans commonly referred to as the Cadillac Tax.
Here at Proficient Benefit Solutions, we have been advocating for the repeal of this tax since its introduction in 2010. It was scheduled to take effect in 2018 but Congress has delayed the enactment of this tax twice since then. We will keep you informed as this legislation makes its way on to the President’s desk.
