On October 3rd President Trump signed Executive Order 13890 titled “Protecting and Improving Medicare for Our Nation’s Seniors.” The order details expansions and improvements that are to be made to free-for-service (FFS) Medicare and Medicare Advantage (MA) plans. These enhancements include but are not limited to: enabling providers to spend more time with patients; encouraging innovation for patients; and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse to protect beneficiaries and taxpayers.
President Trump makes it clear that he is determined to continue encouraging expansions and enhancements to the Medicare system.
At Proficient Benefit Solutions, we support improvements that result in improved care and/or reduced cost as long as it does not interfere with the patient’s ability to pay their out of pocket expenses using their consumer directed health plans (like an FSA).
